Join us for this long awaited collaboration with International Queer and Migrant Filmfestival. Especially for CT Cinematic, they have selected their favorite documentaries from the queer dance scene for an afternoon at Compagnietheater with a special art exhibition by Zoë ‘Blackbird’ Suso and DJ Lady Shady in the bar.
At 12PM we screen the documentary Si c’etait de l’amour (If it were love) by Patric Chiha:
Fifteen young dancers of various origins and horizons, touring with ‘Crowd’: choreographer Gisèle Vienne’s dance piece on the 90’s rave scene. Following them from theatre to theatre, If It Were Love (Si c’était de l’amour) documents their work as well as their strange, intimate relationships. For the line becomes blurry, the stage seems to contaminate real life—unless the opposite is happening. From a dance documentary, the film grows into a troubling journey into our nights, our parties, our loves.
CONTEXT PROGRAM
On the ground floor of CT, we are presenting a one-time only art exhibition by Zoë ‘Blackbird’ Suso. From 12 till 17:00 PM, the bar will be open with DJ Lady Shady playing from 1:30PM.
At 2PM, a second program starts: Vogue Shorts. Want to marathonize and attend both film programs? For 20 euros instead of 25, you can buy a combiticket here for the whole evening.
PRACTICAL INFO
The documentary is French and English spoken, with English subtitles.
This event requires all attendees to keep a 1,5M distance and show a Covid certificate (through the CoronaCheck-app) upon entry. A Covid certificate can be proof of vaccination, recovery of corona, or a negative test (from the last 24 hours). Don’t forget to bring your I.D. More information here.

De langverwachte samenwerking is er eindelijk! Speciaal voor CT Cinematic heeft International Queer and Migrant Filmfestival hun favoriete documentaires uit de queer dance scene geselecteerd voor een avondvullend programma in het Compagnietheater. We hebben twee filmprogramma’s geselecteerd, met een speciale kunstexpositie en dj’s in de bar!
Het eerste programma is de documentaire Si c’etait l’amour (If it were love) van Patric Chiha:
Vijftien jonge dansers van verschillende achtergronden en plekken touren met ‘Crowd’: het dansstuk van choreografe Gisèle Vienne over de ravescene van de jaren 90. If It Were Love (Si c’était de l’amour) volgt hen van theater tot theater en documenteert zowel hun werk als hun vreemde, intieme relaties. Omdat grenzen vervagen, lijkt het toneel het echte leven te besmetten – of is het andersom? Van een dansdocumentaire groeit de film uit tot een verontrustende reis langs onze nachten, onze feesten, onze liefdes.

Op de begane grond van CT is een expositie en van 12:00 tot 16:00 zijn er live DJ-sets in onze bar.

De documentaire is Frans en Engels gesproken, met Engelse ondertiteling.
